Every time I read a story like this one, I wonder if the person know about OCF or had proper care....

It is very sad but I think the most notable point was she was told she was terminal from the outset - she could have been treated but I'm assuming what she had was incurable - and according to the article very aggressive - so treatment would have bought her a little more time possibly at the expense of her baby - and likely quality of life - very very sad. frown

Very very sad. However, with
terrifying symptoms: crippling headaches, tunnel vision and tremors that shook her entire body.
it sounds like Stage IV with major spreading of the cancer to the point where the tumor may well have been inoperable. Not too many posters here start off with such bad symptoms right out of the box. sounds like any TX would only have been pallitive and not curative anyway. So sad.

This post just makes me want to cry. Also makes rethink about trying for our fourth child. I have always wanted four. Our first one is in heaven. I keep thinking what if this crap comes back and I am expecting another one, what would I do. My RO and ENT did give us the go ahead. I would have to say, I would probably do the same thing this mother did. I may see if my RO could do Cyberknife or something, but I do not know if I would risk the baby's life. Such a strong mother to give her baby life and lose her's.

I found this very real feelings on her part. She must have known and really wanted to leave part of herself to her family in the form of the baby. It made me feel bad even if it was her decision.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.
