Anyone have dental pain from constantly chewing on one side? I usually avoid crunchy foods, but I ate some really hard ginger snaps and it seems that ever since then I've had a toothache. I've been managing it with motrin. I'm going to my dentist in a few weeks for a cleaning and since it doesn't seem to be getting worse, I thought I would wait. Has anyone done anything in dentistry in order to protect their teeth, such as sealants, so the teeth don't get worn down? I have pretty strong teeth and only 1 or 2 cavities in my life, but I'm concerned about tooth loss.

In time I hope to see one of our dental professionals on the forum respond to your question. Most of the members have had radiation treatments which adversely affect the teeth. We were to use special trays and flouride to daily treat our teeth. A OC patient who has not had chemo or radiation wouldnt have as many problems as someone who had these other treatments. You are a very lucky survivor!
