The rules are that when listing ingredients in foodstuffs, the FDA requires that they are listed in the order the occur the most. More than gum, this is an interesting read when you look at things like cereals, (to see where sugar ranks compared to other ingredients), and bad for your arteries saturated fats like palm oil in many baked goods. Label reading is worth the time.
