Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 138 | I'm scheduled for surgery at 3:30 tomorrow. My oncologist came in this evening and said essentially the same thing the surgeon said, that the cancer in not curable. But she said there is some chemo management they can do to prolong my life a bit. Not great news but maybe I will have time to go on a cruise which I've always wanted to do. The saddest thing for me is I won't see my great grandbabies. My granddaughter and her husband are planning on starting a family in a few years. I was supposed to be in South Carolina right now seeing my grandson-in-law graduate from boot camp at Fort Jackson, but....

Been under the weather with very nasty congestion and keep putting off callling the Dr. You have all of the good I can muster from this inner body and soul. Please forgive me for being late reading your post. I have you at the top of my prayer list and am praying the Drs are wrong. I enjoy your emails and hope to be getting them years from now. Smile and be positive " Bloop".
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

I too am so saddened to read this....you are in my thoughts and prayers. I agree with Suzanne, you need to book that cruise immediately! Live each day to the fullest. None of us is guaranteed tomorrow.

Caregiver to husband Ron. Throat Cancer. Finished 35 radiation treatments on 11/21/04. 8/2/11 small lesion on lower gum, laser Procedure to remove. 3/6/12 Doc. removed another lesion on outside of his neck. Did a skin graft from his chest to replace the skin on his neck. Went to Heaven on 6/24/12.
