The Ugly is just piles of soggy tissues and a red scabby nose from a common or garden 'cold/flu' bug. And just my face in general of course! The Bad is--there's a met on my adrenal gland which was too small to be picked up/investigated on first scan. It's grown enough to now be visible The Good--I continue to have Zometa every three weeks to treat my jaw. The liver lesions are NOT malignant--probably cysts. The adrenal tumour had probably grown considerably before my chem started and has probably been shrunk some by the treatment. And finally--THE LUNG MASS HAS SHRUNK BY OVER 50%!! So a mixed bag, but for all those who ask generally---YES--chemo has 'bought me some more Quality Time' Brenda

I just saw your question to me on the other post-I'm still in treatment, I have a scan coming up in a few weeks to see how it's going. I still feel pretty good in general. The only wierd thing is that my hair is starting to thin out a bit...I thought that wasn't supposed to be a side effect of cisplatin. Of course, I still have to wax my eyebrows and lip. So unfair!!! Melissa

I also feel pretty good apart from the 'fluey' thing, so hopefully your scan will be BETTER than mine---have to take age differences into account--LOL! I have also experienced numbness in my feet for the first time---doc says 'chemo reaction' so feel better about that, mum had a toe amputated before they found that she had cancer, so it had been worrying me a bit. P.S.---in spite of supposed 'skin sensitivity', my moustache can still cope with cream peel!!!

You have such a wonderful outlook on life. There was also a wonderful peace on CBS nightly news with Katie Couric on Sunday about a college professor with a cancer that has now gone to his liver and is inoperable. He gives "a last lecture" really to his children which is just an inspiration to watch and is on CBS' website to download you guys. I loved watching his courage. check it out.
Partial mandibulectomy and neck dissection 2/3/07. T2NOMO. Had 14 hour operation which included reconstruction of jaw. Reconstruction failed. Some radiation, no chemo. | | |
