Boston, the procedure itself is a walk in the park. Or maybe a dream of a park. On the table, IV drip in, nighty-night and you wake up 20 minutes later with your esophagus dilated. I've had it maybe half a dozen times in the last year. It gives you a sore throat for a few days and your doc will probably suggest that he eat pureed food for 48 hours. But it's a good thing and it will help his ability to swallow.

Let us know how it went. And don't be afraid for your dad, ok?

We will all be praying for your Dad - let us know when it's over and hopefully all they'll have to do is stretch.

Hi Everyone:

Just left hospital. My dad had the dilation procedure and everything went well. The doctor said he saw no evidence of cancer. He will stay overnight. He mentioned something about the tool they use to do the procedure, they start at 10 and go up in thickness to 20. He got to 19 with my dad, only because he could not get my dad's jaw open any further. Thanks again for all your kind words and prayers
