Thanks, David, I just had the PET scan today and was glad to get the music they provided, so I know bringing my to radiation treatments will give me a lift.

I didn't mind the hot mask but the fingers making it conform to my face didn't feel the best. LOL like someone pinching my face and saying kitchee coo.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Susan,
I am glad your mask fitting went well. Like other posters have said listening to music can be helpful. I took my own CD's since my therapist provided a CD player for us. I think I listened to the same songs each time that way I new when it was almsost over each day. I also counted to the beams and each time the machine moved so I knew when I was almost done. Once I got a little more "comfortable" I was actually able to stay still and it did not take as long.

Thanks, Angie, I really appreciate all your advice, having been through this. I'm hoping my PET comes out clear like yours!
