Can anyone tell of organizations that will help pay for hearing aids? I will be set up with audiology on the 27th of this month and I would like to get the ball rolling a little early with any financial help that may be available.

Thanks in advance,
Billy

Billy: Have you served in the military? If not, since you are pretty close to this area, let me do a little research for you, and I'll email you any results...Hope you continue to progress......

Thank you so much Emmylou. No, I havent served in the military but my sisters husband has. She was telling me that there is an organization that helped them and she believed they would help me too. Im waiting on that information now. That is very sweet of you to spend your time to help me.

God bless you,
Billy

HEAR Now is a private, non-profit organization that provides hearing aids for adults and children who are legal residents of the United States, who are deaf or hard of hearing and who have limited income.

HEAR Now is a provider of last resort. All other options for service must be used before benefit can be approved. Services are distributed through a nationwide network of hearing professionals. Providers are asked to waive fitting and follow-up fees for the first year of warranty coverage. Clients pay for their hearing evaluations plus a non-refundable HEAR Now processing fee of $39 per aid. The organization provided more than 7,800 hearing aids to people in need last year.

Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be legal residents of the United States and must meet financial criteria. They must be low-income people who are considered to be at [or below] 125% of poverty level. HEAR Now also requires an asset assessment.

Billy: I have no idea what your income is, and that is no one's business, therefore, I do not know whether or not you would quality for this service.

I will continue to search for you, and email you directly, as I'm not sure if I'm breaking any rules by posting the above info.

Billy

Marvin got help from a program in our state it was under vocational rehabilitation. See if your state has a program like that. If they can determine that you need hearing aids for you to keep your job then they usually pay for them. We were told that it doesnt matter as to your income. They even helped a judge in our area get some. They have actually paid for Marvin to get 2 sets.

Thanks for the info Barb. I just made some calls and we do indeed have a vocational rehab here. I have to go in and fill out some paperwork and they will set me up with whoever I need to talk to.

Emmylou, please dont stop searching. Im sure I will need all of the help I can get.

Thanks again yall,
Billy
