Hmmm-- it is the *radiation* that causes the most problems, both logistically (1x or even 2x a day for weeks) and medically with side-effects (you know what they are!). My husband said that the concurrent chemo he got (7x carboplatin) was "a piece of cake" and he never turned a hair. It was the radiation that really socked him. Certainly Moffitt could give Ed this chemo drug, which is the least toxic of the commonly-used drugs, and a low dose given once a week presents the least problem with nausea etc.

I am surprised that Moffitt does not have better social services, maybe they do and Ed just hasn't gotten to them yet. In any case, it is the radiation that requires the most oversight and a CG to make sure that meds are taken, pain relief etc. is obtained when needed, and that hydration and nutrition are kept up.

I think calling ACS is the first step...they helped my mother a great deal with transport etc. when she was under treatment for leukemia.
