Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Joined: May 2006 Posts: 720 Likes: 1 | Jim -- Don't know how far this is from you, but a quick Google search found a stand-up MRI in Columbus, Ohio. (The search terms I used were stand-up MRI Ohio. I also tried it for West Virginia, since you may be closer to that state, but no results.) There's also one in Pittsburgh, Pa.You could call the manufacturer, Fonar, to find the closest facility. Contact number is on the home page, under "For Patients."

April 2006: Husband dx by dentist with leukoplakia on tongue. Oral surgeon's biopsy 4/28/06: Moderate dysplasia; pathology report warned of possible "skip effect." ENT's excisional biopsy (got it all) 5/31/06: SCC in situ/small bit superficially invasive. Early detection saves lives.

Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | Thanks Leslie I had my 1st surgery at Ohio State Arthur G James CCC. Pittsburgh is much closer and I have been treatedin 2 of their world reknown Hospitals. I have an appt with my Oncologist the 9th of March and will tell him . Our OCF member JeffL was treated at OSU by the same team that did me. Have a great week. Jim
