Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. My detist found a suspicios spot on my tongue today and I have an appointment to get a biopsy in the morning. Wasn't really scared untill I saw the HPV link. I have a history of cervical dysplasia (Not positive if HPV or what kind if it was) I watched my grandmothers sister suffer and eventually die from oral cancer and now her daughter is in the hospital fighting the same thing. I'm greatful my dentist checks for cancer at every visit and noticed this white spot today. Maybe it will be nothing, maybe if it si something they'll have caught it early. Anyway, thanks for listning. Untill I get biopsy results, I don't want to scare my family who are already dealing with one case of this scary disease. -terri

Good you for. You are well experienced with this disease, so you know all the very true sayings, so remember - "Its not cancer until they say it is", so take a deep breath and one day at a time. You are right on top of everything and we all know early detection is what results in a CURE of this disease.

Try to stay calm - so much easier said than done, we all know that. Let us know how the biopsy goes. Who is doing the biopsy? Have you been referred to a Cancer Center? I trust all will go well tomorrow.

Terri,

Listen to Donna, she is wise. It's not cancer until your medical professional says it is, so do not let your emotions overcome you. If it is cancerous get the best care available (CCC) and read the quote in my signature.

Like you I was early 30's when diagnosed with two young boys and a beautiful wife...who are my "why".

Good luck

Let us know what the results say. It is great that you have a dentist that checks for that stuff all the time. Praying that is it good news. I am also like you. I am in my early 30's with two little boys. They keep me fighting. Anyway good luck and let us know. The wait is not a fun thing to do.
