Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | You can buy geb=neris Zantac not, got for that and Mylanta. I still have tio take it after surgery on my esophagus from reflux. My easophagus loked like ulcerated raw liver. It still isn't the prettiest buy Zantac and Mylanta sure help
Never had reflux since, and could eat out of a garbage can.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 31 | Into second week of Rads now. Biopsy of BOT was positive. No one can tell me if I'm HPV positive, can they get this from the biopsy? Generaly doing well. Right jaw is begiining to hurt and the dry mouth has set in. I'm eating everthing in sight as you folks have suggested, some loss of taste. Had to get on anti depressents to handle the anxiety and loss of sleep. hanging in there.

Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 8,311 | Rick, Your positive cancer cell slides can be sent off to a qualified HPV testing facility, like Johns Hopkins and they can be tested. Three years ago, in the HPV dark ages, mine came back within a couple of weeks.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 90 | Rick , I'm not sure about this side effect. I would definitely mention it to them when you go in for treatment. Make sure you speak to the RO not just the tech.
