I checked with my food supplier (Option Care, owned by Walgreens) and the lady said that as long as my physician prescribed the Nutren 2.0, Medicare would pay the 80% after deductible of the negotiated price (She said that they wouldn't cover VHC as it was considered a PEG food).

Hello Pete D,

I'd like to ask you where you are located in WA as I am in Oregon and my daughter had just renewed her monthly Jevity 1.2 for her tube feedings and became diabetic and they have had to switch her to Glucerna and they won't take the Jevity back as a return. If you want it I will try and make arrangments to get it to you, the insurance already paid for it, so I need to find someplace to donate it. Let me know if you are interested.

Bonnie

I;m on Bainbridge Island, across Puget Sound from Seattle. I'm happy with my Nutren 2.0. You could place an ad in Craig's List for free food or donate it to a nursing home or something like that (WA law prohibits that). What I did with my leftovers from a previous surgery was give them to a nurse at the radiation center and she found a home for it.

I gave my extra liquid food to the nutritionist at my cancer center. She told me there were many needy people being treated there who could use it.

Thanks for the ideas, I will talk to the nurse at the RO's and see if they can use or find a home for it. I don't want it to just sit and go to waste.

Bonniey...we did the same thing...gave several cases to the radiation facility...they were thrilled to get it as they had lots of people that could use it.
