I didn't have my incision open up on me at all. I think what you are talking about is a fistula. The wound opens and drains fluid, liquid you drink and sometimes food will also come out. If you go to the search section and look for a fistula you will find more detailed information on it. I'm sure someone will post with more experience with one than I. I did have a friend with oral cancer who passed away about 1 month ago. She had a open fistula for over a year. It made it diffucult for her to input enough nutrition to heal and also maintain your normal weight. She had a PEG tube for feeding but was only taking three cans per day. Way not enough.
