It's great that you are being proactive and getting your tongue checked tomorrow. It isn't unusual for someone to notice something that has been in their mouth or on their tongue forever and think it is new.
What you may be seeing are the circumvallate papillae that are far back on the tongue and are normal. They form a "V" on the back top of the tongue, with the point in the middle going back. I'm not saying that this is what you are seeing, however there is a good chance that it is. No one can tell you without looking.
