Most of the time you can understand what she is
saying but at times she still needs to write down what she is saying.

Brief phone calls with people who understand the the situation are ok.
Using the phone with someone who does not understand the situation is a no go.
She won't use the phone, another loss.

i was thinking TTY is available for the hard of hearing something similar
must exist those with speech difficulty. I found Speech-to-Speech Relay Service.
Its a free FCC regulated state based service that makes a 3 party confidential call
with a facilitator translating when words become incomprehensible.

we haven't used it, i just found it last night. Anyone here have experience with itt?
