Welcome to OCF! Its always nice to have fellow survivors join our group. Im sure your experiences will be very helpful to others who may have just started their treatments. Since you just finished this past April, you still have a long way to go before your are completely recovered.

Have you tried cooking meats in a pressure cooker? That will usually help to tenderize most meats.

A waterpik (on its lowest setting) will be able to help you manage cleaning between your teeth. I suggest using warm water with a small amount of non-alcoholic mouthwash added. After rads its very important to take impeccable care of your teeth and gums. A water pik is a great tool to help with this.

Losing weight during treatment and recovery is frowned upon by doctors. It means your body is working overtime trying to fight the cancer and rebuild itself. Treatment and recovery burn calories at an incredible rate. Right now you probably will not gain weight even if you took in 5000 calories a day. To better help bounce back after what you've been thru, try to take in at least 2500 calories and 48-64 oz of water. By taking in at least 2500 calories a day it will help you to fare better with your recovery. Check with your doc about adding high protein whey powder to your diet. Protein helps with healing. I know all too well how horrible you can feel when not getting enough calories. I wasnt always the best with my intake either. Boy did I learn a valuable lesson with several hospitalizations for malnutrition and dehydration.

Best wishes with your continued recovery smile
