Both places had a chart prominently displayed in the dressing room telling you what you cant take in. I was always allowed a water bottle with the label removed. Other than that, the nurse always told everyone "If you werent born with it, then it doesnt go in the tank". That meant no dentures, makeup, false eyelashes, jewelery, or even dyeing your hair when doing HBO. Where I went eyeglasses and contacts werent allowed, they didnt even let you wear your own socks they made you wear the hospital ones. It was an individual tank where you either slept or watched tv. I got thru the entire Sopranos series while doing HBO.
