Yes the waiting is worrying. Kris was diagnosed in The first week in December. So, Christmas and new year intervened. His treatment started in the last week of January. He needed tooth extractions and time to heal before radiotherapy started and a PEG inserted.
When he had his recurrence , surgery was not scheduled for 8 weeks! We were not prepared to wait and sought treatment in the private sector - with the same surgeons - the following week.

PET 6/11 clear.
R) level 2-4 neck dissection 8/1/11 to remove residual node - necrotic with NED
Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!
