This happened to my husband, too. He had a number of post radiation infections and each time he had an abscess that burst. It is messy and painful. He has been on antibiotics for years and that has been keeping things under control. What we look for now are two things: warm red skin and swelling. If he out of his antibiotics, then off to the doctor we go.

I hope this is a one time thing for you. When in doubt, get it checked out!
