Hey jay had the same surgery - less tongue removed but very same - chemo and rads can be ok - horrible depending on th person... Tell your wife to bulk up now extra weight will help around week 4-8 (radiation keeps working for about 2 weeks post treatment.) read up on the side effects, an prepare for them - if she doesn't experience some of them then awesome - if she does you're prepared.
