It was a great walk!!!! I was happy to see such a large turnout today. They estimated aver 300 people attended the walk/run. There were several OCF members in attendance. Many of us wore the matching burgundy tshirts which made a nice united statement. There were several large groups who were there to walk in honor of their loved ones who passed away from oral cancer. It was great to see my old friends Jerry and his wife and also to meet some new survivors too.

Every single walk is different. What impressed me with this walk was it was run by dental students. There were so many dedicated young people who are determined to make a difference in the dental community. These people are the future front line players and they will be the ones to spot oral cancer in its earliest stages. I tried to instil in their minds today that they had the capability to help catch oral cancer before it became a death sentence for their patients. I have a good feeling that their future patients will get a proper screening at every check up. The awareness is spreading!
