I know the American Cancer Society has drivers that can drive patients back and forth. I am one of their volunteer drivers.
The patient I am trying to help lives about 60 - 65 miles from the treatment center. With the horrible traffic when driving even on non rush hour times it will take about 2 hours each way. We all know that going thru radiation with chemo is bad but spending 4 hours a day, 5 days a week in a car traveling is pretty difficult.
I am hoping to find some resources that will help with lodging. I know of Hope House but they make it mandatory that someone stays with the patient and this is not always possible. Does anyone know of any other options for help with lodging in the Phila area? The cost of a hotel is out of the question, even one at $20 a night would be too much.
