I am very worried about some red patches at the back of my throat, particularly behind the uvula, and back and side of throat where cancer was removed. the SCC was in the tonsil and growing into side and back of throat and base of tongue, stage IV. I had tonsillectomy April 2010 followed by RT and chemo which ended last day of August. I am 8 months post treatmentts, I had modified radical neck dissection (october last). i have been living a near normal life a[part from usual dry mouth, intolerance of spicy food and need to drink lots but life is not too bad. I have ongoing fatigue and WBC is still very low, but i stay otherwise healthy, good appetite and able to eat most things. the darm red patches are much more evident on side where cancerous tonsil was located, they are not sore. are they of concern or just the after effects of radiation, if so does this continue ? i have occasional mild earache when swallowing but this can occur on either side. very worried.
