Just reading Wilfrid Sheed's obituary. He died Jan 19 of a bacterial infection but he survived metastatic tongue cancer for about 17 years. He wrote a litle about it in his 1995 book,
In Love with Daylight. The quote I liked best about dealing with cancer:
